The SecOps Cheat Guide

So, I did a thing while I was away

I wrote a book! Well, OK, Grok wrote a book and I edited it. It's called "AI Mastery for Security Engineers: From Prompt Novice to Autonomous Defender" and I think it's pretty cool. So cool, I'm giving it to you for free!

Two of the most important things, and probably the hardest things in AI to grasp, are prompting and context. Prompts cost money, so knowing how to write a good one is super important. And we have probably all experienced the 'shroom laced responses of a model that doesn't have enough context. This book aims to take you kicking and screaming through these skills, bringing you from sorry newb to proficient enough to use AI in your everyday work flows.

Written from a blue/soc/engineer point of view, it focuses on things you do already: threat hunting, incident response, and vuln management. It includes helpful prompts from my work, and suggestions from an AI itself to give you a leg up. We even discuss the future of AI and the ethics surrounding AI in the security space.
